The Healing of a Christian Marriage
Putting on the Mind of Christ # 407
- CD 1:Greg and Julie Alexander
The Alexanders refer to themselves as marriage missionaries. They dated all through their college years and were married shortly thereafter. They got caught up in the competitive gotta have it culture. Both made good money. Both were concerned about their images. They lived what they thought was a Catholic life style.
That was the surface image. To better her salary, Julie took a job an hour-and-a-half from home and only came home Wednesday evenings and on weekends. Greg cared for their two children. It was a tiring lifestyle both physically and emotionally. Their marriage was disintegrating. Greg asked for a divorce. Both pursued a divorce. The story really gets interesting when they met a priest who served on the diocesan marriage tribunal. He asked some pointed questions that they had to think about and answer. The Holy Spirit began to break through and work in their lives. They began to prey.
The Holy Spirit continued to work in them. They now council other married couples. But, you don't know the rest of the story. They quit their lucrative jobs. Their family grew as the lord gave them five more children as they deepened their walk with him.
