  • Professor  Peter Kreeft: Voting as a Catholic

Additional Info

  • Description:

Voting as a Catholic was recorded four years ago for an event sponsored by the Gospel of Life group at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Plymouth, Michigan. They brought in Boston College’s Professor Peter Kreft. He’s a lucid and eloquent speaker and author. He writes and speaks in an easy to understand manner.

He answers questions many of us haven’t yet thought of like - what’s a Catholic Christian to do in the voting booth?  How can he catch up on his conscience formation? How can I follow my family tradition of voting as a democrat and still be a faithful Catholic.

It’s certainly not that all the party members are pro death. But its leaders and most of its candidates for elected office are. Most of its financial backers are. As faithful Catholic Christians, we can’t morally vote for them even if our family history might go back generations with voting traditions. The party has deserted us over the past decades and turned into the party of big government, control, and death.

Dr. Peter Kreeft is a professor of philosophy at Boston College and King’s College in New York City. He’s the author of over 45 books including the Handbook of Christian Apologetics, Christianity for Modern Pagans and Fundamentals of the Faith. He’s a regular contributor to Christian publications and is an in demand conference speaker. He is a convert to the faith.
